Call me crazy, but I've been really enjoying reading this text book for one of my education classes. "Critical Encounters in High School English: Teaching Literary Theory to Adolescents" not only discusses the need to move from the usual Reader-Response method when discussing literature in the class room, but it also offers practical, and thought provoking ways to employ various other theory lenses...that is, if literature theory is your thing. Even if you have no intention of ever becoming a high school English teacher, I think you could find this an enjoyable read.
